Men commonly have a freckle in the middle of their left arm. I was sceptical about the below, but I actually have a larger freckle in exactly this space. I am sure it has to do with sun exposure and how the sun hits your arms.
We use an animal taxi when we need to transport our cats to and from the catsitter or the vet. He made this very interesting post the other day, about a cat with an insulin pump. He had never seen one before. I had no idea this was even possible.
That last picture looks more like a glucose monitor than an insulin pump… one of our cats, Lil, was diagnosed with diabetes and needed to have his blood sugar tested regularly, so that we could give him the right dose of insulin. (yes, tiny syringe, very fine needle, ampoule of insulin kept in the fridge… every morning and evening I would put some special – diabetic-compatible! – wet food down on a saucer for him, on the counter, and while he was happily chomping it I would grab a fold of his scruff to inject him…) Unfortunately he found the visits to the vet to have blood samples taken much too stressful, and stress in cats affects their blood glucose levels… the solution was that we started fitting him with (human style) continuous glucose monitor discs. They were stuck (tiny dabs of tissue glue = superglue) to a shaved patch on his flank. Lil had his own phone (a repurposed old iPhone of my partner’s) and his very own Apple ID, to run the app which could read the monitor over bluetooth and raise alerts if his blood sugar went too low – I even had the companion app on my phone, which received the alerts in realtime and could sound an alarm! Fortunately he was a very laid back, lazy cat, who spent much of his time asleep on the cat tree… so I just plugged Lil’s iPhone in near where he liked to snooze so it could get a reading every now and then!
