I don’t decorate my planners because I generally throw away the daily pages immediately, and the weekly pages once I have invoiced and been paid for lessons I have taught.
I do use washi tape to denote public holidays and birthdays though. I place washi tape across a day that is a public holiday or when I am unavailable. It’s quick, prevents mistakes, and can be removed if things change.
I have been using the same washi tape for years. I don’t use much so they last a very long time. I had the urge yesterday to buy different tape for 2027. These are the two I chose. The shop is PY Hobby if you are in Sweden.
I rather liked these, but I don’t use washi very much, so it would just sit in my planner box.
I use washi in place of sellotape when packing up orders. Much more cheerful and biodegradable, the only thing against it us tgat i have to use it before pritt-sticking on the address label!
I don’t use much washi but I do love seeing it in my planner. I also put it on birthday envelopes with little stickers. One of my former students loved my washi about 18 months ago, so I brought her some of the rolls I no longer used. She came up to me in the passage of her workplace a week or so ago and told me ‘I’m still using it and I still love it!’
