I use exfoliating gloves, a loofah, or a shower flower to wash myself. I cannot manage with just hands or with a washcloth, and I like the clean feeling of having a bit of exfoliation as part of the body cleansing process.
Lately I have been hearing so many people talk about an African net sponge. They originated in West Africa where net bags (from oranges, for example) or fishing nets were used for cleansing. It dries easily and you can reach your back by stretching it out, or you can scrunch it into a ball to wash your body. The good ones have double knots, I have learned.
They have evolved into being made from different materials over time and I am very keen to try one out. I have heard good things about the Omas Cosmetics one (from Nigeria), but I am unable to find one locally.
I have also heard great things about these ones

And these ones, sold by a black-owned company in Australia

I was wondering if any of my readers had tried one of these sponges? I don’t want to get one from Amazon because those seem to be cheap knockoffs and I would rather support a company that imports them from Africa. I will also be looking in our Afro-Caribbean shops to see what they have. If I do get one, I will review it.
