In commemoration of Ash Wednesday

I am not religious but I grew up in a very Catholic household and went to a Catholic convent school. I had plenty of these works of art on me over many many years.

For everyone who does take part in Lent and the other religious celebrations of Easter, I am thinking of you today.

  1. I grew up sort of Catholic but I have only discovered this type of art recently. I believe it was Mark Wahlberg who had that done and I was so curious about it…

  2. I love the different crosses, mine used to start off as a cross when given by the priest but by the end of the day was a definite blob. I’m no longer forced to go to church, by school or parents, therefore don’t.

    1. I went to a Catholic convent school and I remember being told on the bus home on Ash Wednesdays that my face was dirty. I guess it did not look like a cross for long!
