How I store my handbags

I have been asked by a few of my readers how I store my handbags. Here you go! Apart from these I have storage in a spare room/office and a walk-in closet.

How many of my handbags and Filofaxes can you recognize? I have three of these shelving units which take up one entire wall of the bedroom.

There are also bags in the lower part of this shelving unit but they are covered with doors. You can also see at least four Filofaxes in this picture!
This is an EXPEDIT shelf from Ikea. It makes everything I wear easily seen and is very versatile.

The blank ‘hole’ is where my cats launch themselves onto the bed! The white door at the bottom also holds handbags (my three Chloe Elvire bags and my Mulberry Roxanne are among them)
A corduroy multi pocket Di and Glynnie bag hangs on a hook on the wall, while my Anuschka fairy bag and my two Vanilla Paris bags are on top of the magazine rack.

  1. Can you tell me about the bag in the last photo where a number of bags are on display? It is the brown leather one at the top of the stack. It might have already had a post – which I missed- in your bag of the day series. Thanks for sharing your stunning collections. I so wish I could see, touch and smell some some of these lovely leather items.

  2. Wow!!! This is great 🙂 Love that the cats have their own space reserved for launching 🙂

  3. I absolutely love it, Janet! I knew it was IKEA at first glance. Love that Teddy has his own cubby shared with I can’t quite make out! The cat launch is really fun – must be hilarious to watch. I have a large sized Anuschka bag which I love. I think we scared Steve! Sorry, Steve, mine is a similar situation but Janet’s is beautifully organized – mine not so much! I love the chest of drawers that your Grandfather made. It is beautiful craftsmanship. German craftsmanship has always been top line in just about everything. What a lovely read and I love those shelves. Our upstairs roofline would not allow me to put large shelving cubbies in but someday, somewhere. We have always had IKEA but not where we are living now – it is a small city – read small town! Have a great day, Janet. 🙂

    1. Teddy shares with ProtoPaddy – a stuffed black and white cat toy which my black and white cats used to play with 🙂

My grandpa was a carpenter and I have several of his piece which are stunning.

      Glad you liked it Pat!
