I love white jeans and trousers, but seldom wear them because they get dirty and lose their colour quite fast. I am not sure if I am particularly messy but living in a big city and travelling by public transport means they get dusty, and I have sat on berries outside, dropped food on them, splashed juice on them. When it is raining they sometimes get muddy, and it is hard to keep any white pristine over a long period of time.
I have had these Lidl white jeans for years now. I bought them for about $10 and figured that if they didn’t last more than a season it was okay. I have not worn them for a while but I will be brave and bring them out this summer.
Just after the photograph below was taken, I dropped marmalade from my sandwich onto the trousers. We were on a road trip so I could not wash them immediately. There is now a small pale mark on them (not very noticeable)

Yesterday I stumbled upon these white trousers at Uniqlo. They were reduced from $60 to $8 because they were dusty. The style is relaxed, with two front pleats and patch pockets at the back. I am going to use these for work. Again, at that price my heart won’t be broken if I spill coffee on them.
Uniqlo has lovely quality, and our flagship store has a ‘faulty item’ rack where items with makeup on them or buttons missing/crooked labels are placed. I recently bought a gorgeous brown t shirt for $2 (missing label) and a perfect dark blue down jacket for $20 (dusty). I check it regularly and have found some great bargains hanging in the little neglected corner of the embroidery workshop.
