I was interested to see a ring organiser in the 2026 television series Gone. You don’t often see them in films or television these days. I guess they are a useful plot device to drive the story forward, in a way that a phone cannot because you don’t need a password to access a ring organiser, and it is easy for the camera to focus on one.

In episode 3 they called the above a Filofax several times, though they may be using Filofax as a coverall term for any ring planner. I don’t recognise the model.
I was watching a movie years ago and the actress had a Filofax! I have many as a result!
Looks like one of the original A5 ‘System Organiser’ from 1993; secretarial pocket, with card slots and 3.5″ floppy disk pocket, and zipped pocket.
Wow you are good! I’ve never seen one with a floppy disk pocket before!
We use the word filofax, in the same way as hoover or how the Americans use bandaid – it’s no longer a proper noun, merely a regular one. 🙂
