Beauty buys on the summer sales

Yesterday was Sweden’s national day, and soon it will be Midsummer, after which most people will be on holiday. July is still holiday month for most of Sweden, even after EU membership set some people’s vacation to August to harmonise with the union. It’s a little early this year, but summer sales have started (everything seems to start earlier and earlier…) and I have bought a few things.

I take sales as opportunities to

— stock up on things I like

— try things that are normally too pricey for me

— test products that are new to me. I have found some favourites this way.

The items on sale are generally overstock, outgoing brands, brands that are being redesigned, Christmas kits that weren’t sold, and unpopular items (which are sometimes popular with me ha ha)

I have found these so far

  • I like the Lancôme Confort range, and this one has been a previous favourite (50% off)
  • I mentioned in my Gisou post how much I love Nuxe honey products. They used to have a face wash in this range which I used until they stopped making it. This smells so nice and has a good lather. (40% off)
  • After my Nose Saga, I have been using as many body products for sensitive skin as I can, even on my body. This was a new product to me and I really like it. It absorbs quickly without stickiness. I may go back for another one as I use body lotion every single day. (50% off)
  • I loved this nail polish, which was 60% off. It is a very delicate pink. It’s not quite Essie Ballet Slippers love, but for the price it is great.

  • I like Pixi products and this one was supposed to be both rinse-off and wipe-off (with a moist cloth), but it is VERY VERY thick and rich. It washes off easily but the wipe-off part is not so clearcut. It reminded me a lot of a heavier version of Pond’s Cold Cream
  • The Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging CC Cream was given to me in a little goodie bag when I purchased over $20. I have used it before and my hair really likes it. You only need a tiny bit
  • Lush’s Sticky Dates was part of a promotion, which thrilled me because Lush hardly ever has sales. I like Sticky Dates (not as much as Grass, Rose Jam, and Snuggles though) but only in small doses. It is VERY rich.  I usually have quite a few shower gels on the go because I like bath and shower time to be luxurious.
