I don’t normally do this, but I am reading several of them at the same time.
I tend to read the first page before I buy a book. If the first page grips me, I buy it. If a book does not engage me by the time I am 20% in, I donate it. For me, life is too short to struggle through a book hoping it will get better. Although I know loads of people who soldier on. Once I have finished a book, I never reread it or keep it. It is donated so that someone else can enjoy it. The exception is band biographies or photo-heavy books. I often flip through them again.
These are some photo-heavy books I am working my way through at the moment. I have just finished and donated a lovely one on Woodstock.
I am also a binge reader. I spend entire days or evenings reading a book. I want it to be fresh in my mind so that I can remember what is going on. I like to live in the bubble of a book. Although I hate the ‘book hangover’ you get when you finish a fantastic book and feel a little lost.

I think I am the complete opposite: I keep way too many books and re-read them to death… I also can’t stop reading a book even if it’s bad but I would sell that book!…
I used to re-read Lord Of The Rings at least twice a year until concentrating on the written words became hard while holding the book. Now I go for audiobooks or ebooks and I’m currently reading (on ebook) Ginger Geezer about Vivien Stanshall (the lead protagonist of the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band in the 1960’s). I also bought Michelle Obama’s Becoming but gave up with that about 20% in because her voice adds nothing to her story. I know people who said that her story was fascinating but it was not what I was expecting from 20th century Chicago.
