Wanderings

Yesterday was wicked cold so I cheered myself by looking at interesting things in shop windows and in thrift stores.

I thought this was very true

I loved this. It is a proposal puzzle. I am guessing the proposer will give the proposee the puzzle in a box, they assemble it and then keep it in this frame if the answer is yes. The puzzle says ‘will you marry me’.

I loved this sign for obvious reasons

I often see vintage desk accessories and office equipment in thrift stores

  • leather blotters
  • inkwells
  • matching leather photo frames
  • wax seals
  • paperweights
  • letter openers
  • letter trays and stands
  • writing cases
  • ornate hole punches and staplers

Technology has made all of this obsolete but I just know there are people out there who have the complete setup and love it.

My Van Der Spek La Grande tote in black and dark brown Janet Leather is looking really good, despite our harsh winter weather. I have used it virtually every day since I received it and it does not have a mark, scratch or scuff on it.

  1. i love vintage desk stuff, because I still write letters using creame colored paper and a fountain pen. I have a paper clip jar and a paper weight on my desk, and open my mail with a hundred year old letter opener. And my computer still kind of works.
