Jean Painlevé Art Deco salamander Bakelite/galaith bracelet

This is an old costume bracelet that I have been wearing quite frequently lately. I love turquoise and teal and this goes so well with both. In addition, the links are both silver and gold-toned so I can wear it with both silver and gold.

What I like about this bracelet that it fits my narrow wrists pretty well. I normally have to have links removed, because I hate loose bracelets. I wear a 16.5cm bracelet and many of them are 18cm. Arms must have been smaller in the 1920s and 1930s!

The bracelet has matching clip-on earrings which I don’t wear but keep as spares in case one of the Bakelite squares drops off the bracelet.

You can find this bracelet in different colours online, but they tend to be quite pricey. Mine was very cheap because I am not sure the seller knew what it was. I love this turquoise one.
