The popper on my pocket-sized Louis Vuitton planner broke recently. One of the tiny metal bars in the female side fell out. It still closed but did not ‘pop’ and kept falling open in my bag. I tried a few cobblers – I didn’t mind a generic popper – but none of them could replace it without opening the seams of the planner. In the end I went to the Louis Vuitton store so that they could send it to France for repairs. The price was pretty reasonable considering they have to send it to France and back, replace it, and stitch it as good as new with the right thread etc. The repair will take approximately 20 weeks due to the European vacation period
The planner is from 2008, and the assistant who helped me showed me all the other beautiful jewel toned combinations they used to make the epi leather planners.
While they were looking up codes for the correct leather colourway, I sat with my coffee and watched looked at the gorgeous items for sale in the shop. It turns out they had me on file because I have bought and embossed items there (all notebooks and planners) before. Who knew?
