Unlike most women, I don’t have a thing for shoes. Handbags yes but shoes no. I only have about 8 pairs of shoes and sandals. For summer I wear African beaded flip flops (with or without a slight wedge heel), for spring I wear gold Ecco walking shoes or simple flat ballet pumps. I walk up to 12km a day for work so my footwear needs to be comfortable. Because I work with top-level politicians I do need to be presentable though. I hardly ever wear heels – partly because I am over 6ft with them on but also because they make my legs look even thinner.
I do seem to have a thing about boots though….and I never get rid of them! My oldest boots are over 20 years old. My best boots were Tony Lama cowboy boots bought in Texas in 1984 but sadly lost along the way. My second favourite pair is probably my black Frye 12R Harness Boots.
Grinders and Fryes need to be worn in but once they are, you can wear them forever. The more you kick them around the better they look.
