We recently went on a charity run for the Swedish Cancer Fund. It was a shortish ride – about 60km but it was beautiful, despite a little rain on the way. I spoke to the organiser, who noticed the wide range of ages and types of motorbikes (sports, adventure and touring). We thought it was probably because just about everyone is, has been, or will be affected by cancer in their close circles. Personally my mother (brain), my brother (prostate) my niece (breast), two uncles (prostate and lung), my ex-partner (colon), and a good friend (pancreas) have died of cancer. A close friend lost her husband (brain) and business partner/close friend to cancer within three weeks of each other. I have had students with bone, breast, colon, and lung cancer. Because of that, I really wanted to do this ride.
People queued to donate. A total of $1500 was raised.
There was also this cute Puch with a tiny caravan in the carpark.
