I always worry that animals with albinism or unusual colour variations will be targeted by poachers, particularly if they are in the wild. These unusual animals are often featured prominently in social media. The Kruger National Park (where this zebra lives) does suffer from poaching (most often rhino) due to its huge size, but there are many security measures in place. When we went to Addo National Elephant Park recently the staff at the gate to our camp did a full search on our car before letting us in.

The only shooting of animals which is acceptable is with a camera (or in the case of vets, with a dart to subdue the animal and not kill it). There have been several strange sightings of zebra over the years and this one is remarkable as it is still living with the herd. I have seen pictures of white zebra (very few black stripes on their body) and an albino zebra which I would love to have seen up close to photograph it.
I also love abundistic zebra!
