Hair product review: one rose and one thorn

These are both travel-size products, bought for a trip.

I had always wanted to try Alterna but I was rather disappointed. It made my hair very dry and I needed quite a lot of product. I will try another variant the next time, but this one gets a thorn from me.

The Creightons conditioner blew me away. I had seen it at our local cut-price shop for ages, but never bought any. This and another one in a blue tube were the only travel-size conditioners I could find at the time. The blue one was nothing to write home about but this one is the bomb. It is easy to comb through, it leaves my hair really really smooth, shiny, silky and bouncy. Not a hint of frizz, even after a rainy day. I am so impressed because it is really hard to get a glassy shine on curly hair because of the way the curls reflect light. I will be buying a full size of this product plus their hair mask as soon as I stock up on products again. A big bunch of roses!

Small sizes do cost more due to economies of scale, but it is a commitment-free way to test new products. There is nothing worse than buying a huge bottle of something only to find out you don’t like it. That is why I like companies who provide decent-sized samples to try before you buy. I have found some of my favourite products that way.

  1. I just checked the Creightons conditioner and the whole range is available in the German Amazon!… And it’s so cheap!… I definitely put a few on my list. Thank you for the recommendation!
