Sometimes people thinking I am joking when I mention the housing shortage in Stockholm and other large cities in Sweden. This site (from which the photo above and statistics below) come explains the various issues on our housing market. The statistics they mention come from the official housing queue.
It is in Swedish but you can see how many years you have to wait for an apartment in some areas. I live in Södermalm so the wait for a rental apartment is almost 20 years.
