My lockable diaries

I have more than these ones but I can’t think of where they are at the moment (the perils of having a book collection that is too large). So I took the ones near at hand and here they are

Top left is my A5 Aspinal five year lockable diary in Purple Croc. This is the colour and style I feel that Alice Temperley copied for her new Violet filofax range. Lovely book with gorgeous thick cream pages and silver gilt edging.

Top middle is my pink Smythson ‘Dreams and Thoughts’ diary – it has a beautiful handmade gold lock with the most beautiful keys. Each lock has only two keys which fit it and so you get two when you buy one. The pages are edged in gold.

Top right is my Edwardian (made between 1900 and 1910) five year diary. It has gold page edges. The lock is absolutely stunning but has no key. I have started writing in it this year, with an Edwardian pencil.

The three on the bottom are pink Smythson five-year diaries. Silver locks and silver gilt edged pages. The one on the bottom left is now full and the other two were the last the company made or will ever make so I bought both of them. One is half full already but I know I have another one when that one is full!
