One of the accounts I follow on every medium I can is The Language Nerds. I learn something new about language most days (and promptly forget it unfortunately). My degree is in English literature with only one year of linguistics (something I felt would better sync with journalism), but I have often wondered if linguistics would have been more my thing.

I have long held an interest in words and their origins. It’s nice to know the irony behind the words calque and loanword which both give an insight into the English language as well as shedding light on the origins of language.
