I love all these products, I really do. But the packaging leaves a lot to be desired. It’s attractive, no doubt about it. But if you have bad eyesight and are in the shower with water cascading down your face, how are you supposed to tell which one is the shampoo and which one is the conditioner?
For people with bad eyesight, there is no difference in colour, font, design or size between these shampoo and conditioner bottles when you are in the shower.
Another thing I hate about bath and body products is when the bottles/tubs
- are so tall and narrow that they fall over
- are made of glass
- are difficult to open with wet hands
- impossible to read without glasses
- have such narrow openings that it is impossible to remove the contents without engaging in a highly technical operation
- prevent you from using all the products (square packaging I am looking at you, busy hiding the product in the corners)
I used to work in IT (I was a Novel network manager and PC support consultant) who moved over to creating websites for newspapers. Almost all the graphic designers had totally impractical ideas of how their websites should look (three levels of splash pages before you came anywhere, hidden links, garish colours, moving banners, arty videos chewing up all the bandwidth). It seemed that they wanted to show off what they could do rather than providing a site that actually worked. It is the same with high-end handbags which seem to be a useless accessory rather than something to put your stuff in.
Rant over
