This feels like me when I am worrying about something that has not and probably will not happen. It has also been me in the past, feeling trapped in a situation but with only myself, my fear of change, and my insecurity keeping me there.

Sometimes we all feel that way, I stayed in a loveless relationship for 21 years because it had been a lovely relationship for the first 3 years and then died gradually over a further 4 before becoming loveless and I kept hoping she would stop hitting me for wanting some intimacy. I finally realised (14 years later) that this had now become the new normal so I left and gave myself time to heal, I’m still not quite ready for another relationship at the moment but I keep getting better every day.

In many situations over my life I found that it was easier (for want of a better word) to stay than find the courage to go. I have never liked change.
