I found the concept of kangaroo words rather interesting. However, the design was confusing.

However, the eye is drawn automatically to the white text, meaning that many people struggle to comprehend. I tested this on three classes of students and all saw the white letters first, thus battling to find the hidden word. This may be useful to anyone pondering creating this type of text.
It is obvious that people will read he white letters first as the majority of the text is written in white, especially the beginning of it. The human brain adapts to what it sees first. I must also say that the choice of colours in your example is misleading as the background is dark green and the letters a lighter green so they don’t stand out as clearly as the white ones. Now type the same text in different colours and you will see that again people will read the words the same way.
