Each year on the 10th September, I set my alarm for these times. Each time the alarm rings, I sit in silence and remember.
I was teaching a 1:1 lesson when 9/11 happened. My boss came in partway through the lesson and put a printed piece of paper in front of me telling me about the first plane. Shortly afterwards, she came in with another piece of paper, letting me know about the second plane. I don’t think news was quite instant then and we had no television at the office, so there was a slight delay. My student and I were in a state of shock. When she came in a third time, we cancelled all lessons and travelled home in silence.
As soon as I came home I put on the television and it was like the most ghastly disaster movie ever, but it didn’t end. All other programming was cancelled. Our world was changed that day. The following day I was at a course about online teaching programmes, where we held a silent minute, but I think everyone was in shock and unable to concentrate.
There are not that many times in our history where people can remember where they were when it happened, but that is definitely one for everyone who was alive and old enough. May it never happen again.

Thank you Jenet, My horrible feeling flash back to the year 2001there ,all our local channel braking the news that I felt attack wasn’t to Mighty America but to us because it was the most terrible terror attacked in this history.
Such a wonderful thing to do. Thank you, Janet.
