I have always adored Marimekko designs. The Nordic aesthetic is generally reflected in design that is very minimal and in neutral shades – plenty of white and black but with shades of grey and beige. Very few ornate details on anything and not much ‘bling’ The exception are companies such as 10-gruppen in Sweden with its bold prints
and Marimekko in Finland
Yesterday I was lucky enough to find these gorgeous notebooks on sale at 50% off. There were only two so I bought both of them. One has squared paper and one has lined paper. Both have pockets at the back. Aren’t they beautiful! Once I have finished them I will probably frame the covers.
Love the covers. I remember Marimekko fabrics from the 60’s and they were always beautiful. I have not heard about them in years so was not aware that they still existed. I am glad they do – beautiful as ever!
