Artifice Books – EDANNA

Next up is EDANNA

The theme for EDANNA reflects the world of plants, their never-ending dance with the sun and the rain. It’s such a beautiful system. Perfection, in fact. The tooling on the front cover depicts a stylized plant emblazoned on a burning sun. (Those who know where the word EDANNA comes from will understand better the theme of this book; the rest really don’t need to worry about it.)

I put more into the spine of this book than I do with most. I had an idea about the growth of a plant, from seed to flower, and that’s what the spine is. Seed at the bottom, flower at the top. Growth in between.

I wanted this book to look old, and I took great care with the dyeing so the leather would appear worn, aged. I adore the soft creaking as you open and close the covers. The silver corner protectors add a bit of luster. Lastly, I used a gorgeous rippled green paper inside the covers.
