I love the story of Makenzy Beard, 14, a Swansea teenager who took up painting in a garden shed during lockdown. With no formal training, no electricity (she used the light from her mobile phone), and using her mother’s discarded painting supplies, Makenzy created this absolute masterpiece in 20 hours. The portrait is of her neighbour, farmer John Gower, and she painted it from a photograph she took of him. The portrait is now on exhibit at the Young Artists’ Summer Show during July and August at the Royal Academy of Arts.
Now that is talent!
His name is ‘John Tucker’ and Makenzy is from the ‘Gower Peninsula’. Yes, an extremely talented young lady.
