Targeted marketing

I hate it when you search for something online or visit a website, and the next thing you are receiving ads for it. I guess it is no different from shops encouraging you to buy things, but it seems more intrusive.

I regularly receive ‘we miss you’ emails if I have not purchased from a website for some time. I recently received an email from Amazon with a $10 discount, and when I clicked on the link (because I wanted to buy a book) it sent me to a list of 87 rather random products. The web address was ‘dormant nudge’

This was also, with 99% certainty, targeted marketing
