Another trip around the sun

As lovely reader Eva surprisingly remembered, it was my birthday on the 23rd. It’s been rather hot at the moment (finally) so we have just been out and about while the sun shines (sticking to the shade though!)

I am rather happy with my new nail polish. It coincidentally matches my coolest silk dress, These sandals are incredibly comfortable. They are from the Billabong factory outlet in Jeffrey’s Bay (South Africa), reduced from $90 to $9. The straps and upper soles are made of soft material that feels like puffy clouds on your feet.

This dress is a Tenerife purchase. It is so cool in hot weather.

I rather liked seeing this old VW van. My bonus family had five kids (six with me) and lots of pets so they always had VW minibuses, in their various shapes. One of them had previously belonged to a chicken farmer so whenever it got wet it smelled like chickens. When we used to go to the sea for six weeks for the summer holidays, the VW van held our granny, two parents, six kids, three dogs, two cats, a cockatiel, several budgies and canaries, rats, hamsters and a guinea pig. This one must have been from the seventies? I am not that expert on these so I am not sure if they originally came with truck beds or whether this one has been converted.

And this dog and gorgeous umbrella made my day

  1. I was right! Happy birthday (officially!)! What a lovely outfit you are wearing! Once we move to the Canary Islands, I will ditch the jeans and embrace the dresses!
