I had a class who asked me this question today, because they liked the pendant I was wearing.
This is an antique glass, marcasite and silver necklace I found at a fleamarket. It is nothing valuable but it is pretty striking.
Number one would definitely be rings. I always wear rings on my left ring finger (some type of wedding set or band) and on my right ring or middle fingers. They generally follow the style of my outfit and I often stack slim rings in different constellations.
Second would probably be bracelets. I don’t wear anything that jingles because I use my hands when I teach. I also wear bangles, but not that often because I have small wrists and they are often too big.
Third would be necklaces – usually a chain with a pendant but I sometimes wear a heavier chain by itself. I have a small selection of pendants that I switch between.
Fourth would be earrings. I like earrings but I have tiny attached lobes so the most I can wear are small studs or hoops. I wear them 24/7 so it cannot be anything that will dig into me while I sleep.
What about you?

Earrings are my favorite. The funny thing is, when I was a kid, I thought that my lobes were too thick. They barely fit in the piercing gun. Now, l love them. I have had my lobes pierced for over 40 years with no stretching (I know stretching your earlobes is a thing now, but it’s not me.) and I wore big, heavy earrings in the eighties! Now, I love earrings that are light weight and have a bit of dangle. I usually wear posts in the second pierces and a hoop in my upper ear on the left.
My second favorite is pendants on a chain, but it gets too hot where I live to wear them in the summer.
I have these tiny thin lobes. Your thick ones sound divine, and would look amazing with huggies. Huggies look like giant hoops on mine.
I love the look of huggies, but they are usually too small! LOL!
I tend to buy super cheap jewellery that I can wear all the time. I wear necklaces the most and crystal bracelets with round beads. I also have a couple of rings on my ring fingers. I come from many cultures and lived in many different countries so sometimes the wedding ring is worn on the right, sometimes on the left. I have my real wedding ring on my left hand and a fake one (€3!) on my right, so I’m sorted! Regarding earrings, ever since Corona, I haven’t worn any because they kept being caught with the mask.
As you might guess, I love shinies. Bangles best*, earrings next (I made myself teeny backless studs for my nose and 3 of my left ear piercings) drops for my lobes. I never thought I’d enjoy rings and for years til I married I didn’t wear any. Then when I began to make proper jewellery I discovered that what I needed to make my fingers feel less fat was stackers and wide bands.
It’s very rare that a visitor to my stall has no negative feelings about their hands/neck/wrist/fingers or ears. Usually it’s because they’ve not found something that’s comfy.
*My default bangle is oval. So much easier to wear. I make round ones if asked, but ovals are so much better !
Interesting that you like ovals. I have found that shape is the most comfortable for me too. I think I find comfort in touching or twiddling my rings. I used to have spinner rings but I irritated myself when I was spinning them!
I love obsidian, pendants, rings, ear-rings I will take them all.
