Velvet Mutineer oilcloth tote

I have been carrying heavier loads than normal lately. One day on the way home I was really battling to carry both shopping and my work bag. I spotted this little beauty in a charity shop for the princely sum of $4.

At the time I had been thinking more of a plain cotton tote or large plastic bag to hold my overflow, but this was so pretty. I loved the 70s-style pattern. It held most of my shopping that day and will remain in my closet for the summer, when I like to use smaller, lighter coloured bags.

The brand is Velvet Mutineer (what a great name!) and appears to have been a handmade brand stocked in a number of niche boutiques and markets in around 2017. The website does not appear to be active, so I have been unable to find out more information.

This bag is expandable and is a small-big bag if you know what I mean. It looks small but holds a lot.

  1. I like your bag. It reminds me of the Paul Smith Swirl organizer. Didn’t you have one of those?

  2. Love your new bag! I also use lighter fabric/canvas type bags to keep things lighter. Much easier on my back.
