English is hard

I teach English for a living. English is my mother tongue, but I speak three languages as a non-native speaker. Each language I speak as a non-native speaker has some difficult quirk, something that is almost impossible to get right 100% of the time. When I have to teach people why sentences like the ones above and below are grammatically correct in English though, I am so glad I learned English as an infant.  I am not sure I could learn it as an adult.
