Did you know?
IKEA also had a cat ad:
Did you know?
- IKEA stands for Ingvar Kamprad Elmtaryd Agunnaryd, and is made up of the initials of the owner, the farm where he was born, and a nearby town
- Ingvar Kamprad started IKEA when he was 17. He was too young to sign papers, so his uncle did it. Kamprad started working when he was very young, selling matches.
- He is famously parsimonious – travelling Ryanair and second class train carriages, driving an old Volvo, tying small pieces of string together instead of buying new string, and always turning lights out when leaving a room. His employees are encouraged to hold the same values.
- He used to be an active member of the Swedish Nazi party. A skeleton in the IKEA closet, so to speak.
- All his children work for the IKEA foundation in different roles.
Some very ingenious closet.. ugh, I mean, cat management, indeed! 🙂
