    1. For me now it would be early retirement. Sweden is inching towards 70 years for retirement now and I would love nothing better than to retire right now!

      1. yes, we are inching forwards too, but my feelings (though I’m only in my 50s and am incredibly fortunate to be working at something I really love) are that we need to increase the age at which we receive the state retirement pension – life expectancy her is 84-86 depending on gender, which is a very long time to live on the income from the state. I think it’s improving since auto enrollment into an occupational pension was introduced back by the previous Labour government as people tend to have a more reasonable expectation and it’s much easier for all of us ordinary people to contribute into a pension now.
Have you been able to reduce your hours ? That would probably make a big difference to how you feel and effectively stage your retirement.

      2. I noticed a few years ago that I could not work at the pace I was used to, and I was exhausted by Friday. After Covid, I cut down my hours and am now at a level where I could quite easily continue until I am way older. I very seldom work weekends, evenings, or very early mornings. I say no fairly often. I have had to economise but I am all the happier for it.
