I have used many types of hairbands over the years, including Blax and Invisibobbles. But my favourites have always been flat hairbands, which are surprisingly hard to find. My last stash came from our local supermarket, and Body Shop’s small advent calendars contained three small ones last year. Since then though, supply seems to have dried up. I finally found some today at a local accessory chain, Glitter, and stocked up.
I like them because they don’t dig into your head when you rest it against a pillow or cushion, they don’t pull at your hair, and they are compact.
Hello,
it seems they have something similar at Glitter stores

The ones I got were from Glitter. If you like flat hair bands, I can definitely recommend them. They are really pretty!
Was just going to say to search Etsy for fold over elastic – that is exactly what those are. You can make long or short ones yourself if you get enough!
There’s also a Berkeley, CA (USA) woman based hair band creator that hand dyes theirs. Not affiliated, just a happy customer when I had long enough hair:

Thank you! Her stuff looks lovely – I am going to see if I can order some elastics from her!
Those look like pieces of fold-over elastic that have been tied in a knot. If that’s what they are, you can find fold-over elastic at sewing supply shops. BWear (https://www.bwear.se/en/elastics/fold-over/?twsList-articles=g-name-a-48-2) in Sweden carries a lot.
Thank you so much for this Jane!
