  1. I am a Devonian and have an accent, even after the worst that Grammar School and Accountancy training teachers have done to make me loose it. Dialect and regional accents, sadly, are rapidly becoming a thing of the past in the face of TV and the wave of Estuarine Eglish ( originally spoken in London and the Home Counties.

  2. The English language, in all its dialects, nationalities, and usages, never fails to amuse.
