I was so inspired by Susanna’s use of an A5 Slimline Boston (in black) + a personal Ostrich (in buttercup) to keep track of her whole life that I decided to try my own version – using an A5 Lizard Flex (red) + a personal Lizard (red).
As it was payday yesterday and I had a gift voucher burning a hole in my pocket, I splurged on a Flex. I have always wanted to try one but could never figure out what to use it for and how. With it I bought a thick notebook and a WOTP calendar for 2014. The 2013 calendar had not been reduced in price and no ways was I buying a bound calendar of which 10 months were already unuseable. As an aside, the same shop (Åhléns) had the brown and black nappa ones priced at 3 times what they should have cost.
The plan is to use the A5 for work related things (bookings, course notes, holding documents) and the personal for everything else. I am left handed so one thing I do appreciate is the fact that the booklets can be flexibly placed to make it easier for lefties.
Because I throw out or archive lists, notes and calendar pages as soon as I have finished with them, I very seldom use bound notebooks. It is going to be interesting to see how this works out.
I would be very keen for links to blog posts or usage tips.

I really like the thought of using the Flex+a personal planner.I used to work with a similar “notebook-holder”,for 12 years. It was a dark blue leather notebook holder. It worked pretty good…until I overstuffed it+all things easily fell out…especially when I placed it on the co-drivers-seat in my car+took a fast turn *HA*!
Must say:It was a lot easier to store my calendar, without buying another Filofax for it,because I have to keep my calendars for 10 years..
