I sometimes wonder if people realise the difference between a million and a billion. It is way bigger than most people realise. I always remind myself of the old description: a million seconds is 12 days. A billion seconds is 31 years.. So people like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos are way wealthier than you could even imagine.
I like that a million seconds is days whereas a billion seconds is years. If the wealthy, like Bezos and muskrat were taxed on everything over £10 million they would still be incredibly wealthy but the money they would give to the state would be immense as well. No one needs to be so wealthy that they can buy governments and countries.
After the past few years, I don’t think anyone should have uncontrollable wealth like Zuckerberg, Bezos and Musk. It comes with power I don’t think individuals should have, looking at what’s happening now.
