I read the following on CNN recently
According to a 1,000-person survey conducted by bedding reviewer, Mattress Advisor, the majority of people change their sheets every 24.4 days. When you do the math, that’s about three weeks and three days of sleeping in the same sheets.
I change all our bedlinen every Sunday without fail. We have six pillows and two duvet covers on our bed, plus one enormous sheet. Our bed is very wide (220cm wide and 200cm long) so it is almost impossible to find one duvet cover to go across the entire bed. So we each have one cover. Our sheets are white and our covers are usually white with blue detailing. And we have three predominantly black cats…
I shower every night before bed but would never go more than a week without washing bedlinen. After three weeks I imagine sheets and covers would be sweaty, full of skin cells and oils (plus other secretions), not to mention (in our case) cat hairs. I cannot imagine how a bed would feel after almost a month without changing sheets…eeek!
I have always said that if I ever became rich – not likely to happen now – I would have fresh sheets put on my bed every day!
Every 10 days, likewise every 10 days for bath towels. Kitchen and hand towels much more often than that though.
I’m definitely in the weekly club! Not much feels better than slipping into a freshly made bed.
