Wonders will never cease, I am using washi tape and stickers!

This is my Van Der Spek Janet Leather Codex, holding a Spring start Hobonichi Weeks. This has turned into a health diary, and for some reason I am loving putting little stickers and some washi tape in it. Perhaps I am enjoying this because it is not a work planner. My work planner is purely for scheduling and to do lists.

My parents died when I was still a teenager. My father had a stroke first and then a heart attack. My mother had cancer and then a stroke. Both suffered from high blood pressure and high cholesterol, which I have inherited.

I have been taking medication for high blood pressure and high cholesterol since my twenties,. I suffered from weight problems in the past but now, luckily, I am always in the normal range for my height. I usually walk a lot during a working day, averaging 15 000 steps daily.

Over the last year, however, my lifestyle has changed. I work from home, am surrounded by snacks, and I do very little exercise. I have gained weight. As a result of bad lifestyle choices, my cholesterol shot up during 2020 and my doctor tripled my medication. I have also been sleeping badly. Sometimes I stay indoors for days. I have been tired all the time.

So, for over a month now I have been using the Hobonichi weeks for tracking water intake, steps, weight, sleep, blood pressure (I have a blood pressure monitor at home), mood. I have cut out snacks and don’t eat after 6 or 7 in the evening. I am drinking more water.

So far I am sleeping better, have more energy and feel so much better. I am hoping to keep this health journal until I have formed new habits. Trackers are very good to work out correlations – for example between exercise and sleep, and eating habits and mood.

Can recommend!

I love this washi!
