Subscriptions —- aaaargh!

It really annoys me sometimes that we do not buy things anymore. Not music, not movies, not software or services. We subscribe to services that are provided via the internet but we actually own nothing. This all costs us money, yet if the system crashes we would have nothing.

At one time, the music industry thought that vinyl records were obsolete. I am so glad they are not. I see also that people are moving back to iPods/MP3 players now because they want to avoid ads, overstimulation, push notifications, and information overload. And I am so glad for physical books.

…and don’t get me started about having to download an app for EVERYTHING! Sometimes I would just like to buy a ticket for something without having to download yet another app I will never use again.
