Well, have never had anything named after me before, albeit unofficially. I found this leather when we were at Van Der Spek in the Netherlands and people liked the look of it and started buying it. It originally had no name so people started calling it Janet Leather.

It is now back to being called #104 which is what is was called when VDS had it before. But I am still so pleased it, for a short time, had my name. I am especially glad that people like it.

It is a thick leather with a very very authentic leather smell. When you feel it you instantly think ‘this is REAL leather’. It is how you would imagine traditional leather to feel and it is the kind of leather that is used to make ‘olde worlde’ leather items. Many of my hand made books are made from this type of leather.

When people get it the first thing they mention is how sturdy but soft it is. Then they usually say they want one in every size AND a handbag in this leather 🙂

I asked some of the people with Janet Leather binders if I could use their photos and they kindly said yes. I will go with first names as not everyone likes to have their names and their interests on the internet.

First off – Yvonne.  And may I say, I love this woman because she let me use pics of sniffing and snuggling which just shows how lovely these beauties are!

  1. What lovely binders! And is that an Edison Herald fountain pen I spy in the pen loop on Eilene’s binder?
