This is my favorite Malden – it is very stiff and coarsely grained. So it is easy to use when writing on your knees or holding in your hand. The softer ones are too floppy for me as I seldom write on a hard surface.

The pocket configuration of this model is really nice for use as a wallet – the zipped pocket can be used for coins there are nice credit card slots and a place behind them for notes.

The rings on this one are tight as drums.

  1. This looks wonderfully well-loved! I am very fussy about leather binders, but I did buy a purple Maldon. I find I use it for keeping all my key bits of info and various cards in one place, rather than taking it out and about.

  2. Janet, I also bought a black Malden from eBay seller and it wasn’t black but grey! Your Malden also looks grey and I am sure it is as the black is a jet black and is unmistakably black.
