Most of my students seem to have a very deep fear of sounding like the Swedish chef from the Muppets when they speak English. Firstly, I had to actually go and watch YouTube to see what he sounded like (as will most people I imagine). Secondly….NO YOU DON’T! Thirdly, there are more Chinese people learning English than there are people in English so we native English speakers are kind of used to accents (in fact almost all of us have them).
