Lookbooks

One tip I can give anyone interested in fashion or beauty is to start a ‘lookbook’. You can have a digital one or a paper one – or both (as I do).

I save pictures of things I like onto a usb stick and attach it to the bookmark string of this handbound book (by Dirk from Brother’s Books in South Africa). If I see a photograph in a newspaper or magazine of something I like I cut it and paste it into this book.

I look through my book for inspiration and when I am making wish lists or shopping lists. If something is eyewateringly expensive I look out for a cheaper version or something similar.

I have chosen some random views for you – sometimes I think ‘what was I thinking?’ when I look back, but usually I keep on liking things forever

    1. I agree! I can also see now, after doing this since 2001 or so, why large fashion houses often revisit their archives and reinterpret or reissue old pieces. They stay good!
