Beauty products

The Body Shop has recently reopened in Sweden. After the bankruptcy, I believe some of the previous staff got together to open a couple of stores. I really liked the smell of Sugarplum. I bought a shower gel to try and if they go on sale at some stage, I may buy some body butter.

I don’t wear perfume so I hardly ever test them, but I was hiding from the rain in our local department store and saw this perfume was 50% off as the day’s advent special. It was sold out but smelled absolutely lovely. It’s not often I fall for a perfume but this one was gorgeous. It is described as fresh, indulging and unique. It consists of three parts called “modernity”, “femininity” and “confidence”. Modernity is featured in top notes of cactus flower and its green freshness. Femininity is depicted with the heart of pink freesia, jasmine and delicate rose buds. The base of warm woods and cedar embodies confidence.

I like Weleda Skin Food but it is too heavy to wear in the day unless it is very cold, so I supplement with their day and night cream, which are moisturising but much lighter than the original Skin Food, which is quite heavy. It’s perfect for chapped skin and really cold weather though.

I bought the two products above – with free shipping – from the website of my local pharmacy. The website of our local department store was selling them for double the price and the shipping was pricey. The physical shops connected to these websites are a few metres from each other. If you compare different websites, prices differ wildly for exactly the same product. It shows how much profit must be made from some products.
