Hallmark Christmas Movies

It’s the time of year that sappy, cheesy Hallmark Christmas romance movies start to come out. Lots of

  • red and green in every scene
  • bad acting
  • weak plots
  • Christmas sweaters
  • snow and tinsel
  • hot chocolate
  • and happy endings.

They are formulaic and once you have seen one, you have seen them all. But when I am tired and it is dark outside I sometimes derive great pleasure from mindlessly watching them. You don’t need to concentrate and sometimes you really need to escape into happy families and a happy ending.

This year I have watched two so far and rather enjoyed them – A Castle for Christmas, and ‘Twas the Text Before Christmas – but I have to be in the mood.

I did chuckle at these though

  1. My son’s favorite channel – hallmark. I think the world seems so scary and these leave him with zero fear and he always smiles when we watch! (Ps. I like them too 😂). We are probably the only two left in the world! Happy holidays to you and your hubs Janet! Xox Sue and Danny

    1. I love the ones that have a little substance (cannot watch the others at all) but they really make me feel good. I don’t think you are the only two – they are incredibly popular! Happy holidays to you and Danny, Sue. I still have his drawing on my fridge!
