For the past 15 or so months I have been in my Van Der Spek pocket planner with large rings. It is perfect for me from day to day.
However, during our recent trip on the motorbike where my planner had to fit into a small cross-body bag, I needed to downsize. So I switched temporarily into my beautiful 4-ringed green Tejus pocket sized Filofax.
This binder is a gorgeous shade of green and the Tejus leather wears like iron. I love the green popper cap and the pen loop is the perfect size. I will be taking this to South Africa because it is so compact and can take a beating. I will be travelling a lot and working so I will need to use it a lot.
This gold pen is very fancy and writes beautifully. It is from The Grand Hotel in Stockholm.
It worked perfectly. All I took with me was my calendar for bookings, some page a day calendar pages for during and just after our trip, and notepaper. It is a gorgeous colour and the leather is very durable. Swedish inserts fit perfectly as the holes are placed so that the inserts work for several different ring systems.

Do you know that these sell for around £300 pound on eBay? I’m jealous, it’s gorgeous.
The Tejus 4-ring Pocket was only produced between 1992 and 1993 (introduced in ’92, 6-ring replaced in ’94), so it’s in lovely condition for its age.
How did you come by it? I have some 4-ring Pockets, bought as new old stock (NOS) from an ebay seller. But not a Tejus…
I found it at a flea market. The moment I spotted it I just had to have it. The colour was so divine and I had a personal Tejus, also in green (now sold). I was a bit worried about the 4 rings but luckily all my inserts fit perfectly. I am sure that it had not ever been used before I bought it. The rings are so nice and tight too.
My pocket-sized blue Tejus is one of my favourite planners with my two Mulberrys. I’ve had it for about ten years now and it shows no sign of wear. The corners are still pristine too. I never baby my planners and they get thrown into my bags with keys and pens. The Tejus leather is indestructible and doesn’t age.
I so wish I had not sold my red one when I bought the blue one. I do have regrets.
Oh you are so lucky to have a blue one. I have always loved that colour. This one spend the entire time tumbling around my bag and I carried it in my bag on the bike too. So nice and compact and not a mark on it. I am planning to take it to South Africa too, because space is an issue.
This has just reminded me about how much I love the Swedish inserts! I might see if I can order some. Lovely planners too 🙂
I know, right! I want those inserts, but I have been unable to find them. I found some similar ones on Etsy. No corner perforations, though.
If you contact order@kalenderkungen.se via email, they may be able to send you some. I buy my inserts from them. Show them a link to the inserts from my blog and they may be able to help.
