  1. The fax machine one made me chuckle. The machine itself, maybe not, but the protocol is *still* freaking being used by the majority of US pharmacies & medical providers (that otherwise don’t use connected health systems like Epic or MyChart, though pharmacies don’t necessarily use those, so they still also rely on fax). It’s clearly not as prevalent as the internet, of course, but the fact that fax is still hanging on.

    You can / should still fax elected politicians in the US, as well.

    I think the US medical industrial complex would crumble if faxes were totally phased out.

    Note, I think the majority of current “faxing” is digital, the way most “land line” telephones are VoIP now, as well.

    Second note, my brand spanking new Brother colour laser multifunction printer has a fax option.

    Third note, is it FAX anymore? Or has it devolved into just fax? (searching this is inconclusive. Google says CSU says it’s fax as a part of speech, FAX when part of an address/phone number. Trying to search style guides is not resulting in anything helpful.)
