Lox locking earring backs

I wrote the post below almost two years ago, just after I had discovered Lox. I am so happy to report that I have used them constantly and they are still going strong.

I bought both silver and gold. There are two pairs in each pack. With the benefit of hindsight, I could have just bought gold or silver and be done with it because you don’t notice the colour of the Lox and they also just keep on going. They don’t break, you don’t lose them and they fit all my earrings.

I have lost earring backs and, as a result, even earrings over the years. Sometimes they tangle in my hair, sometimes my hand catches them, sometimes they are not sufficiently tight, or they wear over time. With these I don’t have to worry. Not once have they ever come loose. Having said that, they are easy to unlock.

I sound like an advertisement but I really love these. I would buy more but I don’t need to.

I have a difficult relationship with earring butterfly backs.

I have tiny earlobes so I can only wear small, lightweight earrings. I usually wear stud earrings 24/7. I don’t take them out because the holes are so close to the edges that I don’t want to make them bigger.

Earring butterfly backs often work themselves loose, or the back doesn’t fit well with the original post of the stud. This means an increased risk of the stud falling out.

I am not sure why I had never heard of these Lox locking earring backs before, but I changed to them a month or so ago and have not looked back. I bought a set of silver and a set of gold and they are wonderful. Easy to get on and off but lock really tightly so there is no way the back is going to work itself loose on the post.

They were cheap and I love the tiny plastic boxes they come in, toned to match the colour of the backs.
