I used to love reading interesting facts online. Unfortunately, digital manipulation and people blindly sharing fake information has led to me being really sceptical about almost every incredible fact I see on the internet, particularly on Facebook.
Nowadays I double check any ‘unbelievable’ facts I see. I also look up any quote attributed to a famous person (Maryl Streep, Anthony Hopkins, Judi Dench) because more often than not, someone else said it.
Two sources I do trust though are both on Reddit. One is Today I learned (where everything has to be sourced and checked)
and Damn that’s interesting where things are not sourced, but where so far I have never looked up anything that has not checked out.
I checked this one and it is ‘unproven’ though I really hope it’s true!
